Living in Phuket, Thailand – Week 4 Recap

Hey besties, here’s a little week 4 recap – mostly financials and logistical stuff because you can so easily google pretty pictures and find cute cafes on google maps. This is the shit people don’t breakdown! Click here to see Week 3 (Sept 27-Oct 3, 2024) I track all of our expenses through Travel Spend (an app) – I have been doing this for almost 2 years now and love using it. It’s also super inexpensive for the yearly app fee.

Let me make a quick disclaimer! We are NOT budget travelers and the below numbers are for TWO adults who prioritize convenience and experiences. We keep our big costs pretty low and splurge on good food, good 🍃 (legal here) and experiences/activities! I make at least 3/4 of our meals at home because 1. I like to cook and 2. convenience sake – it’s quicker for me to cook what I want to eat than wait 30-40 min for delivery.

Week 4:

October 4th-10th, 2024

Hi, I did it. Our daily average for spending went down (finally). Yay! Tbh this week we ate out and ordered in a ton, I just wasn’t really feeling cooking. We took a car to our fave dispensary and back home to attend a DJ showcase thing for my mans vs driving the scooter so that added to the cost as well as eating Korean food literally 3x in 7 days (no regrets bby)! This week was the Vegetarian Festival in Phuket and it was chaotic to say the least, we had tons of fun and experienced a lot of firsts during the festival. We also went to the night market near us, it was wild. Super touristy and packed, probs won’t be back

One time + monthly expenses that are constant:

Plane tickets from USA to Thailand, upgraded seats + extra luggage allowance: $1,539.60
Apartment (rent is different each month because of low/high tourist season) but it averages to $757 per month and this includes: wifi, electric, water, full gym,🙃 fitness + yoga classes, sauna, pool, weekly full cleaning + sheets/towel changes, 24/7 security + private covered parking.
Scooter rental: $150 monthly
Water Delivery (tap water is NOT safe to drink here): about $15 per month

Purchases Throughout the Week:
these fluctuate week to week

Pretty things for our apt + necessities: $35.58
Groceries: $73.69
Eating Out/Meal Delivery: $124.41
Little treats (aka smoothies, coffee, tea, matcha, etc): $34.44
🍃 (legal here): $10.51
Massage (+tip): $0
Gas: $3
Transport: $22.39
Yoga 3 Class Pass (Corey): $26.86

Loving this little life here in case you’re curious!

For the first week we spent a total of $711.44 excluding our plane tickets and rent.
For the second week we spent a total of $490.08 excluding our plane tickets and rent.
For the third week we spent a total of $414.36 excluding our plane tickets and rent.
For the fourth week we spent a total of $330.88 excluding our plane tickets and rent.

This is what our total spending stats look like:
