First of all, POST more stories. Just do it. Show the fuck up. Stop creating these ridiculous barriers for yourself. You aren’t as boring as you’d think! Did you go to Target today? Make a super yummy coffee drink at home? Play with your dog/cat? Get a shit ton of work done all before 10am?! ALL. OF. THOSE. INTEREST. SOMEONE.

Seriously though, there’s always someone who’s interested in what you’re doing. As humans in 2020 especially, we are weirder than ever and want to creep on everyone else’s lives because we are all fairly tired of our monotonous daily routines. Maybe not all of us, but I’d definitely say the vast majority of us are.
You don’t HAVE to share every little aspect of your life on social media, that’s not at all what I’m saying. You do have to show up, be consistent and share small tidbits about the inner-workings of your business! People. Actually. Care. Write down a list of things you like watching on other people’s stories and go from there!
Ideas for stories:
-Memes
-Saved TikTok videos
-Old photos you dug up
-Photos/videos of your pet(s)
-Your favorite products – photography or otherwise
-BTS during sessions, your editing process, posing, etc
Ideas for highlights:
-Target Fall Outfits – your fave finds at Target for mom, dad, boy under 10, teen boy, etc
-Before + After edits or you in real time (or sped up) of you editing!
-iPhone vs Camera – I do this not to shit on the iPhone camera but to just show the difference between being able to control lighting, shutter speed, ISO, etc vs having much more limited control (iPhone)
-What you see vs what I see – if you are taking photos in a super ugly (to the naked eye) location, take a quick iPhone photo or video/boomerang and post a photo of the after you take with your camera!
-FAQ – even though you took ALLLL the time to type this up on your website, chances are not everyone in your follower list has seen it. Write up your most frequently asked questions and put them into a simple highlight reel for your audience.
-Favorite outfit colors for spring, fall, etc – literally post a story that’s a solid color then post multiple and put them in a story for moms trying to figure out outfit colors and coordinating everyone!
You’ll want to post frequently on your stories, if you don’t know what to post just ask your audience! They’ll tell you! ← give them a couple options like a this or that situation, it’s easiest to get a response when you’re asking very little from each of them.
Comment below if this was helpful! Can’t wait to see your stories!
